Dr Lucy Mills

Dr Lucy Mills is a an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with more than 20 years of practice experience. Lucy worked in the NHS from 2004 to 2022. She now works part time in private practice in Margate, alongside a part-time role training Clinical Psychologists at Salomons Institute for Applied Psychology, Canterbury Christ Church University.

Lucy regularly works with individuals, couples and families including children aged 16 or older, to support them through difficult times in their family life. This may be when there are problems in relationships within the family, when a family is coping with a change in their situation or when a family member is struggling with their mental health. Lucy has a particular interest supporting older people in their lives and relationships as their circumstances may change.

These times of change are incredibly stressful and seeing a therapist who can create a safe and respectful space where everybody’s voice can be heard, is one way to start exploring ways to live together and support each other. During couples and family sessions, Lucy will offer her thoughts and reflections about your difficulties and will always be open, honest and transparent about this. Lucy will not try to change you, she will help you to find the strengths and resources within your family, so that you can learn ways to adapt and relate that will help you in future difficult times.
